Hi all - We are finally back on the blog. Still don't know how to make a favorites list with our Comcast address. Will worry about that in the fall

got the Alaska photos on the computer and sorted I hope. We'll add a few to this. They aren't the greatest but they do bring back some nice memories. It was a good, relaxing trip with lots of well prepared and tasty food that we didn't have to buy or cook! The weather was OK as the skies show - lots of clouds but some sun and little rain. A high light was the train trip back from Denali - saw some of interior Alaska. Whale and eagle sightings were fun and it was interesting to see the range of small towns dependent on tourists and fishing to varying degrees. My Dad was in Alaska in 1898 when his Dad went up to preach to the miners. I don't remember just where he was but I enjoyed trying to imagine what it would have been like for a 5/6 year old!

We leave Friday about 10 for NYC and will be at the shore on August 1st.

The city view at the top is Vancouver from Stanley Park The food is taken with my special food focus designed to show off Japanese artistic presentations! The last ones are from the Denali area and the train car - seats upstairs and dining below with glass roof great viewing.

Here are a few more photos of "the Bear" with the beasts. I am in process of putting an album on Snapfish. You'll know when it gets uploaded.

Sarah is back and loved her trip. Here are a few photos from a blog of a photographer who was with them. More photos to come later (we hope). The big elephant in front ended up being "Sarah's". Check out Octavian Cantelli/blog.
